I've been asked to post these by a parent who wants to learn them along with their child so here they are! We're up to the "Z" verse and after that we'll learn Psalm 121 and The Lord's Prayer.

Mark Your Calendars
Hello Grade One families!!
Keziah has made the decision to not have a birthday party with all her friends this year. Instead, she has asked that we put the money towards "finding a cure for Aiden so that he can be at school all the time". This of course prompted much discussion surrounding his illness, and how we could best do our part to help him. As we began to brainstorm, we finally decided to extend an invitation for her classmates to join her in forming a "Team Aiden" for the Child Run on Sunday, June 5th. All that being said, we hope to not only show support to Aiden (and all the children who are battling cancer), but to promote a sense of camaraderie and unity amongst our grade one class.
Within the next few weeks, Keziah will register her team online where she can allow her team members to show their support and fundraising efforts.
We will be in touch soon to share the details of how you can participate. For now, we'd love for you to simply mark you calendars and get excited about participating in this group activity! I believe God can do amazing things through our children!
Blessings,
Charissa (on behalf of Keziah)

St. Patrick's Day
I just found out that green accessories (scarves, beads, green hair, socks, face painting, etc) are on for tomorrow but over their uniform as usual. Also, there will be a bake sale at lunch where everything will be $1 or less. We wrote this in our planners today. Keep well over the break and remember that it's spring uniform when we come back. :)

$2 for Japan
We wrote a note in our planners today to remind students to bring in $2 (or more!) for Japan this week. Also, it is an early dismissal this Friday at 1:10 and then we're off for Spring Break. Report cards should be in their backpacks on the 19th as well. Happy Spring Break! See you on Monday, April 4th! :)

Germs! Germs! Germs!
Just a reminder that if your child is sick in any way (fever, coughing, sore throat, etc) they should NOT be at school until they are completely better. There were 7 students away today. We're hand sanitizing, bleaching desks, zipping coats and eating healthy food but it's hitting hard. Stay well.
